Intro

MOONHUB is a virtual reality training platform that is scalable, effective and powerful. We’re making VR accessible, usable and useful to our customers by using our intellectually protected scoring system. Our platform collects vital data that is fed back to the company using our intuitive interface. VR offers trainees quicker training times, higher knowledge retention and leads  to overall higher return on investment. We currently have two off-the-shelf training suites: IO, our Corporate essentials package, and ELARA, our dementia-care focused health and social care offering and also offer customers the opportunity to develop training to meet their bespoke needs. 

 

MOONHUB is now looking for a Financial Controller, to lead the finance function, reporting directly to the Interim COO. This is a greenfield opportunity, and you’ll play a crucial role in shaping and implementing financial systems that drive efficiency and support our growth over the next 12 months.

 

Job Description

  • You will be implementing new systems to improve efficiency in conjunction with our existing outsourced finance teams
  • You will be reviewing the statutory and management accounts and preparing the development and submission of quarterly KPI reports to investors
  • You will Lead the budgeting process, setting financial goals and allocating resources efficiently to meet business objectives
  • You will manage payroll and work with the Chief Revenue Officer/Interim COO on a scalable commission structure that matches our revenue model
  • Work with the CRO, Interim COO, and CEO on a scalable financial structure that enables and matches our planned and achieved growth in the coming 12-24 months
  • As our Financial Controller, you’ll take the lead on implementing company accounting policies, ensuring we have accurate reporting, and are balancing the right levels of financial control alongside business practicality
  • Closing the month-end in an agreed timeframe, and accurately reporting variances with insightful commentary 
  • Understanding the accounts well enough to be able to answer detailed questions from colleagues, the board and our investors
  • Partnering with the Interim COO in all aspects of managing the finance function, including budgeting, FP&A, hiring, setting and leading on team culture
  • Owning core finance tasks and processes such as our pension scheme, insurance, Companies House submissions, EIS and EMI submissions
  • Helping with data requests and due diligence processes with investors
  • Optimising R&D tax credits and any other similar opportunities
  • Responsibility for tax and other regulatory compliance and submissions
  • Being a key person in project managing and advising on systems and process in the finance team and the wider business

The Successful Applicant

  • Is a qualified accountant (preferably ACA), with experience in B2B startup environments
  • Has held responsibility for month-end process, reporting and annual audits, internal audit and controls in a B2B SaaS business
  • Is passionate about leveraging technology and data to drive decision making, process improvements and building new tools for the finance team
  • Is thorough and highly dependable, taking pride in delivering accurate work in a timely manner
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable rolling your sleeves up as we remain lean, and get a kick out of leveraging data and technology to build and implement efficient tools and processes that help the team and company scale
