Health and Safety

In recent years, VR Training has proven to be of massive significance when training employees. We explore how VR Training can reduce workplace injuries and what the potentials are for VR Training and how it can help employees avoid accidents and injuries on the job.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 mandates employers to provide the necessary information, instruction, training, and supervision for employee safety. CIPD reported health and safety training offered to employees (55% full-time, 64% part-time). 81% of H&S professionals face challenges releasing employees for training. 75% believe employees disregard safety training due to a lack of engagement and updated materials.

Rising health awareness, reduced unemployment, and cost-cutting efforts in businesses are driving demand for H&S services. UK’s workplace injuries cost £7.6 billion in 2019/20. In 2020/21, the Health and Safety Executive fined £26.9 million for breaches. American Society of Safety Professionals states that $4 is saved for each $1 invested in occupational safety & health. Companies are rethinking training, and finding virtual methods more effective and economical.

The survey results, released by Intertek Alchemy, shows a comprehensive analysis of challenges companies face when it comes to worker safety.

VR training has proven to be an effective tool compared to traditional methods. Companies in high-risk industries experienced a 43% reduction in injury rates after implementing virtual reality training.
